A frequency doubler IC spanning 2.5–6.0 GHz input and 5.0–12.0 GHz output is used in millimeter-wave signal generation, harmonic upconversion stages for satellite communications, and test equipment frequency synthesis where direct-to-GHz oscillators would introduce noise or instability. The 2.5× to 2.0× multiplication ratio supports compact implementation of local oscillator multiplier chains in phased-array radar and automotive sensor frontends.
